Print ist
In an age increasingly defined by digital experiences, the printed page is often overlooked — especially by younger generations. Yet print holds a unique power: it engages the senses, commands attention, and creates a lasting impression in ways that screens simply cannot. With my book “Print ist”, I set out to reawaken an appreciation for this medium by showing just how rich, varied, and enduring it can be.
This book invites readers to rediscover print from a fresh perspective. Structured across 7 chapters, designed in 7 different layouts and printed on 17 distinct types of paper, the book completes the sentence "Print ist" in multiple ways — each chapter offering a new take on the form, function, and emotional resonance of print. The result is not only a conceptual exploration but a tactile, visual, and even olfactory experience that showcases the communicative power of print media today.
At the same time, “Print ist” functions as a kind of contemporary swatch book — not in the traditional technical sense, but as a conceptual piece where material, content and design are interwoven. It demonstrates how print can do more than convey information— it can evoke emotion, atmosphere, and sensory depth.
